Areas of Concentration
Yama’s litigation practice is focused on business, trusts and estates, real estate, and automotive law. He advises clients in the areas of business, contracts, corporate, fiduciary, employment, and real estate law. Yama’s practice also includes estate planning and business succession planning.
Background and Accomplishments
Yama has an AV (Preeminent) rating in Martindale-Hubbell. From 2011-2021, Virginia Business Magazine named him part of the “Virginia Legal Elite.” Yama was previously recognized under "Business Litigation" in the Washington, DC Super Lawyers – Rising Stars Ed. and in the Virginia Super Lawyers - Rising Stars Ed. Yama is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society limited to one half percent of all attorneys based on their effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation at the trial and appellate levels, as well as a strong ethical reputation. Yama was honored to serve as a member of the Virginia State Bar’s Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course Faculty, along with some of Virginia's most prominent judges and lawyers. He has also served as a member of its Professionalism Course Committee. Yama is a member of the Virginia Bar Association’s Wills, Trusts & Estates Legislative Committee, and has lectured regularly for Virginia CLE. He has published articles in the Investment Lawyer and the Fairfax Bar Association Journal. He authors the Virginia Fiduciary Law Blog.
